2010 OPENING ARRANGEMENTS Nursery Open by appointment only. Please ring to arrange a visit. You can also find us at the following markets & shows during the season: Heathfield Farmers' Market on 17th April, 15th May & 19th June from 9am to 12.30pm St Luke's Community Market, Stone Cross on 1st & 3rd Friday from 16th April until 17th September, 10am to 12.30pm Communitywise Farmers' Market, Ocklynge, Eastbourne - last Saturday of the month from April to September, 10am to 1pm Eastbourne Lammas Festival 2010, Western Lawns, Eastbourne Seafront - Saturday 31st July, 11am to 6.30pm & Sunday 1st August, 12 noon to 6pm The gardens at Merryweather's Herbs are no longer open to the public, except by pre-booked guided tour please ring or email for details
AT MERRYWEATHERS GARDENS & NURSERY WE GARDEN ACCORDING TO ORGANIC PRINCIPLES. WE BELIEVE THAT THE USE OF PEAT IS DAMAGING TO THE ENVIRONMENT SO IN OUR NURSERY WE USE A PEAT-FREE COMPOST MADE FROM COCO-FIBRE. ALL OUR NURSERY PLANTS ARE MADE AND PROPAGATED BY US. WE GROW OUR PLANTS NATURALLY WITHOUT THE USE OF PESTICIDES OR ARTIFICIAL GROWTH BOOSTERS SUCH AS FERTILISERS AND ARTIFICIAL HEAT AND LIGHT, AND WE SELL THEM WHEN THEY ARE READY TO PLANT OUT. WE GROW WITH THE SEASONS AND PRODUCE ROBUST GARDEN PLANTS WHICH CAN GENERALLY FEND FOR THEMSELVES. WE RE-USE OR RECYCLE WHEREVER POSSIBLE, INCLUDING PLANT POTS AND LABELS.
No access for coaches We regret that, in the interests of the resident wildlife, no dogs, except guide dogs, are allowed in any part of the gardens. Merryweather's Herbs is a no-smoking environment.

There are no steps but the land is on a slope. All the paths are grass and become impassable to heavy wheeled vehicles after rain.
