• ORGANIC VEGETABLE GROWING FOR THE PETRIFIED (3 day course - Course Fee: £135) - An introductory three day course for people who want to grow their own food but don’t know where to start. Ideal for people just taking on an allotment or with a spare patch of garden where they want to experiment with vegetable growing. Dates: - Day 1: Saturday 23rd June - Day 2: Saturday 21st July - Day 3: Saturday 8th September Course includes making the most of your site & understanding your soil; site clearance & soil preparation; crop groups and simple crop rotation; choosing what to grow; weed & pest control; compost making; seed sowing & planting out; crop protection & maintenance; extending the season; seed saving; green manures and companion planting; harvesting & storing;growing undercover. These days will include practical sessions in our working kitchen garden. NEW THIS YEAR • ORGANIC VEGETABLE GROWING - Bespoke starter day for up to 2 people working the same plot (Fee: £140 for up to 2 people) - We'll design a day around your needs and your growing space on a day to suit you.
